This public page explains the current Vmemoo account-deletion behavior. It provides information and links only; it does not create a website-side deletion request service.
How to initiate account deletion
- Account deletion can be initiated from the account/settings area of the Vmemoo mobile application.
- Use the in-app account-deletion flow and any proportionate identity or confirmation step it presents.
- If you need help understanding deletion or cannot use the in-app flow, contact privacy@vmemoo.com. Do not email passwords, authentication tokens or other secrets.
What happens immediately
When deletion is initiated, the account is disabled, active sessions are invalidated and signed out, and memorials owned by the account are unpublished or removed from normal visibility. Deleting the mobile application from a device is not the same as deleting the account.
30-day anonymisation stage
Accounts soft-deleted for at least 30 days become eligible for irreversible anonymisation of direct account identifiers and authentication information. The protected process is designed to be idempotent and auditable and strips applicable fields such as email, password hash, name, username, avatar, cover, biography, location, social links and Google identity linkage.
Limited retention
Vmemoo does not state that every database record is automatically destroyed or that all user-generated content is erased immediately. Some records may be retained only where genuinely necessary for transaction or accounting requirements, legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, moderation, abuse prevention, audit requirements, dispute handling or referential/database integrity. Retained anonymised or necessary records are not treated as an active user account.
