Purpose
This Policy explains who may create or administer a memorial, how Vmemoo handles conflicts, and how we balance remembrance, expression, privacy, intellectual property, safety and the legitimate interests of surviving people.
Creating a memorial
You must be 18 or older, act in good faith and have a genuine connection or legitimate memorial purpose. You do not necessarily need to be legal next of kin, but you must not falsely claim authority. Do not create a memorial primarily to shame, deceive, commercialise or harass.
Verification
Vmemoo may request proportionate evidence of identity, death, relationship, estate authority, copyright ownership or consent. Acceptable evidence may include a public obituary, death notice, official record with unnecessary fields redacted, estate document, family confirmation or rights-holder statement. We will minimise collection and restrict access to verification materials.
Multiple memorials
Vmemoo may allow multiple respectful memorials reflecting different communities or relationships. We may offer merging, linking or co-administration, but will not force family members to combine distinct remembrances unless duplication is abusive or deceptive.
Disputes and priority factors
When claims conflict, Vmemoo may consider documented legal authority; closeness and nature of relationship; prior administration; wishes expressed by the deceased; privacy and safety of living people; authenticity; preservation value; copyright; and risk of harm. No single factor always controls. Vmemoo may temporarily restrict visibility while reviewing a serious complaint.
Correction, removal and transfer
A credible affected person may request correction, removal, de-indexing, privacy restriction or transfer. Requests should identify the memorial, the disputed material, the requester's connection and the requested outcome. Vmemoo may notify the administrator unless doing so would create risk or violate law. Where a legal dispute cannot be resolved through platform evidence, we may maintain a neutral restriction while parties obtain an agreement or competent order.
Where Vmemoo receives reliable notice that an account holder has died, we may secure the account, prevent new login, preserve content temporarily and offer memorialisation, deletion or controlled transfer to an authorised person. Login credentials will not be disclosed. The final outcome depends on documented authority, the user's settings or instructions, applicable law and the rights of others.
